A note from Allen.

Hi! My name is Allen.

I'm the proud dad of two fast-growing teenage boys. Like most dads, I game with them, jam to music with them, show them Dude Perfect videos, play ball with them, and try to point them to Christ on a daily basis. I don't always succeed, though, because I'm not perfect and I need the Gospel just as much as they do.

I also work in the tech field and used to code a good bit back in the day. It's a fantastic world, and the challenge to grow and learn is always there. Now that my boys are growing up, they are starting to drive and get their own devices. One thing I've noticed is that they like to text friends a good bit. They might not read a novel (bummer), but they'll read a text message.

With all the fluff, fake news, gotta-have-it mentality, and social media out there, there is a lot for a teen to take in. How do they filter out what is good and bad? Well, hopefully, as parents, we're raising them to have discernment and to make good choices.

And wouldn't it be cool to have an additional daily reinforcement or encouragement to go along with parenting?

Maybe a daily short message with a cool fact. A gaming tip. A new song. A verse from the Bible. Something a teenager could read first thing in the morning and start their day off on a positive and encouraging note.

So I (along with my favorite coding assistant) built BrainDrop.fyi.

The premise is simple: parents sign their teen up to get a daily SMS message with some fun content. The content rotates and is always different. I approve everything today and won't post something that I wouldn't want my kids to read or know about.
